Got a 94 30-30 Win with 20 inch barrel and no safety. Problem is you have to hold the lever tight so it will shoot. Is there an adjustment for this or is it normal. Seems like the tighter you get the tang screw the tighter you have to hold the lever. Any suggestions?

Holding the lever tight to the stock is one of the Winchester safety devices.  The lever depresses a safety mechanism to allow the rifle to fire.  You don't have to put a death grip on it, just easy pressure holding the lever firmly to the stock allows the rifles to fire.  I have 5 winnies and they are all the same with this, whether 94 or 94AE.  Mikey.
