C-Z .22cal. rifles, AMAZING
« on: January 10, 2007, 12:36:46 PM »
Has anyone else had such good luck with C-Z rimfires.  I am amazed at the accuracy everytime I shoot it.  I have seen many rifles that cost 2x or 3x as much and do not shoot as well.  The only thing I had to do to the rifle was some minor trigger work to get it a little lighter.  Anyone else with similar experience.

On a calm day off the bench at 50 yards (if I do my part) = 5 shots that can be covered by a dime.
Aim small, miss small!!!

A picture is worth 1,000 words.  All of these are 5 shot groups from a CZ 453.  It is every bit as accurate as the 1416D Anschutz I used to have and cost a whole lot less!!!

I cannot attest to the quality of the company's sidearms, but the CZ 550 series and the CZ 527 series are amazing. Keep in mind I glassbed the actions and first inch and one half of the barrel as a matter of routine on any rifle I buy. That said, my CZ 550 American in 7x57mm will shoot around half inch groups at 100 yards with 162 grain Hornady SSTs and one time, I turned in a group which went .216. Click on the photos below and it will give you a blowup of a couple of groups. The second photo is my CZ 550 American with my refinish job on the stock and the third photo is of my CZ 527 Lux/American in .223 Remington. CZ just turns out a fantastic product. Tom Purdom

TM7- In response to your question abou other CZ's.  I have a Cz in .270 and it shoots as good if not better then any rifle in it's price class.  In my experience  CZ's are unique in that the attention to detail with the machining is always superior but the wood can vary from very plain to fairly nice.  If function and accuracy are what you are after for a reasonable price, you will probably do well to look at what CZ has to offer.  Remington, Winchester and the other American companies make good products, but it is hard to go wrong with a CZ or a Tikka. (Tikka? I figured I would add to the confusion)  So many choices, not enough to shoot!

I have an ultra lux with the 26" barrel I bought it on a whim because I liked the long barrel I paid $200.00 for it It'l shoot 1/4" groups with just about anything you put in it, the gun shop is still trying to buy it back and I turned down $350.00 for it the other day. One of the best buys I ever made. 8)

I agree whole heartily.   My BRNO 2-E has proved itself to be quite amazing.   I used to compete using  Remington 40-X International Match Rifles, and my feeling is that the CZ can hold its own against the best.
Here is my 10 shot grouping at 100 yards on a cold gusty day in February of 1995.  Whether shooting from Prone with a Sling or a Sitting position I don't remember.   It was good enough for me to keep the target though.

I have a couple Anschutz rifles ; one each of .22LR and .22 mag. I also have a CZ special

The CZ will outshoot the Anschutz rifles every time...may be the rifles ...may be me...dunno..

Ironglow, I know what full auto means but what is "full ditto"? ;D   Actually, I should have just said "me too" with my CZ-452 in .22 lr and my CZ-452 full stock in .17HMR.

Well, I can't speak as to the performance of the CZ .22s because I don't have one... but as for their .17HM2s - I like them.  I have both a Varmint and an American, and they are the cat's meow..  ;D

Until I can afford (highly unlikely) the new Weatherby/Anschutz XXII, my 452 will do just fine, thank you very much!  :)

;D   My C-Z.22 works flawlessly with the two 5 round clips I have.   But this 10 round clip doesn't want to feed properly for some reason.   Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.   ???    And when it doesn't it causes a mess.  >:(
