There's one for sale in the NEF Classifieds. But, FWIW, I considered having a custom barrel made for an Ultra in 6.5-284, but the large .500" case head turned my gunsmith off, he recommended against it, so he's doing a 6.5x55 on a Shilen blank for me.

Tim,  If you are referring to the one that Chance_livewire has listed, he says it is a 6mmx284.  I know this doesn't make a difference with your caution since they use the same case, but just wanted to clarify that it is the 6mm not 6.5mm.

I have looked at the ad more than a few times.  It is not a cartridge I need.  But that hasn't stopped me before (spoken in true Handiholic fashion).  It is a good price for what you are getting, barrel, dies & brass.  I had better stop before I go look at the ad again.  ::)

6.5-06 might work better in a single shot.
Right between the 25-06 and 270. Both work trouble free in a handi.
The 284s whole reason for being was to get compete with the 270 in a short action.
You don't have any action length so why risk the large case head causing problems.
