A-bolt stock help
« on: October 21, 2007, 07:00:44 AM »
Ok A-bolt Gurus I have a Browning A-bolt Stainless Stalker II 338 and I would like to switch from the synthetic stock to a wood stock to add weight and lesson some of the recoil. My question is; what other browning rifle has a wood stock that will fit this rifle? I want to try to find a used one.

You will have to find another stock from a long-action magnum A-Bolt II. The A-Bolt II's have 3 screws, the old A-Bolt's have only 2. So unfortuneatly you will have to find another one. You could get away with using one from just a long action, but you would have to open the barrel channel up for the contour of the magnum barrel.Hope this helps.
