sidekick range report
« on: November 18, 2007, 12:56:59 PM »
I purchased a sidekick from Jerryko from this site. It came with the 25 acp breech plug and brass. I got it out yesterday to start sighting it in and ran into a technical problem so I had to give up. This by the way had nothing to do with the gun or equipment I got with it.   Anyway I returned to the range today.  I got it on paper with the bushnell banner 3x9x40 that I mounted on it.  I was shooting 100 grains of loose 777 ffg.  I was also shooting a 240 grain lead round nose .429 bullet I mold myself in a harvestor green crush rib sabot and using the 25 acp breech plug as it came with both. I was using cci small rifle primers.  At 50 yards 6 shots were all within an inch at 1 inch high.  I moved to 100 yards and the group opened up to about 2 inches or slightly larger and pretty much the same place 1 inch high. I am very pleased with the entire set up.  In 2 weeks regular deer season closes and we then have a week of muzzleloading. During that week it is either sex hunting.  With the number of does I have been seeing, I expect it to get bloody then.

Anxiously awaiting our muzzleloading southern zone season here in NY also. I was denied my doe tags and filled my buck tag opening day.....GOOD LUCK. I opted to use the iron sites with the fiber optics for this season. right out  pf the box I was dead on @ 50 yards.

good luck illy. I tagged out here in the north. I did not get a doe tag. I got a 6 point early muzzleloading with my cva optima elite then got a 4 point regular season with the encore 25-06. So, I am small gaming it until late season on 12/3 when we get a week of late muzzleloading here.  Going to the range in a bit just for the fun of it and to shoot some more
