Recoil Pad Question

Has anyone used the Limbsaver slip-on recoil pads? I just bought a handi in 500 S&W and I want to put a recoil pad on it, but I'm not sure if I should get the slip-on or the grind-on.

Tim,

I was going to ask you for a picture of the slip on, and ask you how you like the slip on, but then I looked at your pictures and they are all of the precision fits. I have bot all precision fit's myself and really like 'em, but have shyed away from the slip on and even the grind to fit ones as I'm not sure I will like the looks of those.

So...do you have any slip on ones?  How about grind to fits?

I have one small slip-on(Walmart $20), it fits Handi stock real good, a little loose on the BC, but is ok for range work.

I have several grind-to-fits, the BC stock below has been cut to fit on a belt sander, the Ultra below that, I just ground the mounting plate to fit the stock contour, then tapered the sides just enough to make it look ok, I wanted it left full so it has a bigger footprint on the 45-70 it's on since I shoot hot loads in it.

One thing I don't like about the Limsaver is they're real sticky, grab clothing, and they'll sorta melt/deteriorate if left upright with weight on them on some surfaces, so I bought some Kick Eez Slick Eez, put a coating on the sides of the pad and it will protect it, a little on the butt surface will make it slick, I don't coat the entire butt surface, just enough around the edges so it doesn't grab my clothing when thrown to the shoulder.

Tim,I was reading about the use of KickEze in the FAQ, just for info, if you do not have or are to cheap(me) to buy it, a single squirt of AmorAll works ,as fine as frogs hair. It takes the sticky out .      Doug

That's sure a lot cheaper than the Slick-Eez!! Which one do you use, the regular or the low shine New Car?
