Airline Bow Case Help???????????
« on: April 03, 2008, 03:20:34 AM »
I'm at a point in life I've started to fly to different places to hunt. After a trip gun case was destroyed by baggage handlers. Since spent the money for a Pelican rifle case that stands up to abuse.

Now I'm looking for a Airline proof case for my bow any suggestions?

I've flown several times with bows in two different SKB cases. They've always arrived at baggage pick-up with some new scratches, but otherwise intact. The first model was a triangular style that was a "carry only" model. Sold it when I bought a Matthews Switchback XT as it would not fit that case due to the parallel limb design of the bow. Purchased a rectangular SKB model that has wheels, which is nice if you have a long walk to or from the parking lot. Both had very sturdy locks and are advertised as 'airline approved' or some such claim. Never had any issues at check-in with either.

Another vote for the SKB case!  It'll hold up to all but being driven over with a truck(yup, I tested that at deer camp.....that day sucked).
