Fletching

I have a fletcher that I used to fletch  arrows for my compound.How do you fletch the bolts that do not have nocks.Any suggestions on the best vanes for the bolts.

What fletching jig do you have? Several ways and some depend on the size arrow shaft you use. If you use 2219 Ten Pt. makes some plastic rear nok that has a small sq. indention. They make a reg. nok you push into the plastic nok and slide it over your jig receiver. Bitzenburger and JoJan make CB nok receivers. The other way is to take and insert screw a bullet pt. into it then glue a reg. arrow nok to it and use it like that.

I use inserts for my nocks they are flat and lots of guys use them for the crossbows that use a flat nock. (Excaliber and Ten Point) What I did is glue a regular nock to a field tip or atarget tip. Get one of the thinner ones and mate it to a regular nock that fits over the tip. That way you can screw the nock into the insert and fletch as normal. I use a Bitzenburger and it works fine.

I have a bitzenburger. I will use a field tip and nock . What offset do you use on your vanes.Where do you guys find most of your crossbow supplies like the brass inserts.Here in northern Ky where I live seems like crossbow is a foreign language.Sorry about all the questions trying to learn as I go.   Thanks Daryl

I order from BHSS, has good prices. The reg. 3 fletch, i have the Excals so i don/t have to worry about cock vane down as the Hortons. I use full helical fletch with my 2" vanes.

I buy all my stuff locally so I never ordered from anyone. I think 2% is a normal offset. I think that is what my bitz is set at.  As far as ordering stuff you may want to check into that Place Smokepole suggested since he has done business with them. I was also gonna suggest Dan again he is good and I would suspect he has a full shop of what you may need. Other suggestions are Keystone Country Store and Cabelas they both have a lot of archery gear.
