Guys, I'm new at this so please excuse any mistakes for the moment.  I recently bought a Bergara 50cal barrel for my Encore ProHunter.  It fit okay, but I didn't get any breech plug wrench with it.  Midway says one doesn't come with it.  The wrenches from T/C are either too big or too small.  Do you know which wrench to use.  I was hoping one of you has had a similar experience.  Thanks in advance for anything you can do.

I don't have experience with the Bergara Barrel, but you can get a socket wrench that will fit it. I never liked the wrenches that came with most muzzleloaders, So I went too my socket set and got the right size socket to fit and used the ratchet wrench with an extension. I keep one in my shooting and clean bags. Just an idea.

You might find a standard socket that fits.  It might be metric.

I got a Bergara because it was $200 less money, what I'd read about them seemed pretty good (diamond honed), and my experience with T/C hasn't been great.  Bought a 30-06 barrel where the chamber was out of alignment with the bore.  The brass was flamed on one side and the primers were backing out.  I think the quality of that barrel was the worst I've experienced.  Cabela's, where I got it didn't give me any argument and replalced it.  I just thought for the money and for it being a muzzleloading barrel, the Bergara might be worth it.  I sure do appreciate all your responses.   I'll let you know how it shoots in the field if I decide to keep it. Thanks again.

dcomposer, I am sure not all T/C barrels will give you problems, so don't count them out. The main thing is, did they make it right?

Please do let us know how it shoots! Could you also try some conicals in it for me? Im interested in how the great plains conicals in either 385 or 410 grain will shoot over 80-90 grains powder.
