Mueller Review (2)
« on: November 08, 2007, 11:27:46 PM »
This is my 2nd review on my Mueller 3 x 10 x 44 Tac II.The first one covered most items of the scope's performance except maybe if it would hold zero under heavy recoil.Last Saturday I mounted it on my 1895 Marlin 45/70.Using several different loads including H-4895,H-4198,Varget,IMR-4198,and RL 7 capped by Remy 405 soft-points and Sierra 300 gr. HP/FN.Bench rest at 100 yards after sighting I ran 75 rounds thru her(that's all I had loaded and my shoulder was glad that was all also ;D).The scope held up to the task, still hitting the 10 ring or a little outside. After 15 or 20 rounds it gets a little hard to hold even on a bench.I cleaned the bore a couple of times durning the shoot to make an even playing field on the scope review.I had no problems with the Tac II at all.I was very pleased with it performance.BTW-I had a Leupold Rifleman on the 95 before. The Tac II worked as well or better...........Rick
