Was this rifle a Winchester?
« on: October 15, 2007, 03:41:05 PM »
Fouind an angle eject 3030 rifle with light colored wood, what has me curious is that the only marking on the steel was the serial number on the bottom of the receiver alongside the lever pivot.  The base plate was stamped Winchester but I've never seen one that didn't have the model number and caliber stamped on the barrel.

Foggy, the only and I mean only, marking on the rifle was the serial number on the bottom of the receiver. None anywhere else.  The metal of the rifle was in really good condition, the stock had been carved on by an amateur. I could have bought it for $220 out the door but was afraid it was some cheaply made Winchester clone.
