add on rib
« on: November 07, 2006, 11:07:54 AM »
Can anyone help me in here? I have a Franchi AL48 and I'd like to put a really high rib on it. Anyone know links to buy these?

keep in mind that if you put a really high rib on your gun, you will probably need a new stock as well.
If you just put a high rib on a gun that doesn't have one now, you probably won't be able to see the top of the rib, let alone line up the beads.
If you have an adjustable comb, you might be able to compensate.

I put add-on raised ribs on two of my trap guns. Remington 3200 and 90T.  I got them from HPI. ( hydeal@qwest.net) They come in ht's of 1/4" 3/8", 1/2" and 5/8" They attach with industrial two sided tape. I've had mine on for over two years and shoot in hot sun, rain and snow. They have not moved.
I did have to adjust the comb on only one gun and I did that by buying a leather comb kit that attaches with velcro tape and has thin pads you can add to get the height you're looking for.
I've found they made a big difference in my shooting.
