I've started to look at some of the SA/DA Taurus auto pistols, and wonder where the designs of their PT911, 909, 917, 940, 945, and 38 pistols come from. At first I thought they were based on Smith&Wesson, but looking more closely at the controls, it looks like they're based on the PT-92 (which is based on the Beretta) but with a different barrel and slide design.
Anyone have any insight from owning and stripping them?
