X-Mark Pro Trigger. Opinions please...
« on: November 12, 2007, 02:57:26 PM »
I'm going to be buying a new 700 in a .243 and need some opinions on the triggers that are offered.  I'm looking at either the VLS version or the new SPS version.  Both utilizing the heavy contour varmint barrel.  The VLS model has, what I assume, is the standard Rem 700 trigger.  The SPS, has the "new" X-Mark Pro trigger.

Is the X-Mark trigger really that much better than the standard 700 trigger?  Would you compare it to a standard 700 with a trigger job?  Or would it be best compared to an aftermarket trigger?  Or is it junk bolstered by advertising hype?

Your thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated...

The one on mine is really great except it is still to heavy for me. It has no creep at all and breaks like glass. My gunsmith says he will lighten it up for me for $25.00. I just have not dropped it off to get it done yet. Dale
