Eds Red for cleaning muzzle loader?

Eds red should be good for cleaning muzzle loaders right? Works good on centerfires, any reasons why it shouldnt be used on MZs ?

Water is a better solvent for removing salts than mineral spirits and acetone are. I would stick with the water based solvents for "BP" and "BPesque" powders
