T 7 ?

How long can a load of T 7 be left in an inline? If I load it on opening morning and don't shoot for two days how will this effect the powder?

I've left my Black Diamond loaded with 2F T7 for a week without any issues. I seal the muzzle with duct tape after I load before I hunt, and keep some rubber gasket material between the musket nipple and striker so it's completely sealed on both ends when I'm not hunting. Have used the same technique using Goex on sidelocks for years, have even done it with flintlocks with a toothpick stuck in the touchhole. As long as the charge is kept dry and there's no oil in the bore when it's loaded, you should be good to go. I use BoreButter in the bore for a rust preventative, it won't contaminate the powder or cause fouling like oil will.

But it's always fun to get at least one shot at the end of the day to unload it too.

If its cold outside during the hunt leave it outside in the garage or in some other cold place, you should be fine. Thats what I do and never had a problem.  If you bring a cold gun into the warm house condensation will form and beware!!! It might not go off.

I have been out hunting 6 day in a row with the same triple 7 powder in the gun, on the 7th day I took a nice 9 point buck, so I guess as long as the powder does not get wet, who know how long it will last. I had on buddy that did not shoot his muzzleloader at all one season, and left his gun loaded with a red sticker on the muzzle so he knew it was still loaded, and the next year he went to the range and the gun went off without a problem.

I loaded my encore the first day , took a shot and reloaded , 9 days later took another shot and all was fine .
last season took a shot on first day reloaded and cleared gun 14 days later all went boom !
now youngest son loaded 2 seasons ago and forgot to unload until the following season and all went boom ( including his father ) . don't think he will try that stunt anymore !
I do not bring the gun in the house but it goes in the truck so it does get hot / cold etc.
I have taped the bbl in snow and rain also but not always , but it is good insurance !

I've left mine loaded,for three days and no problems. I do leave it in the garage (no heat) to keep it from condensing,or sweating. It goes boom every time! Ron

One of my less responsible hunting friends went to the range to shoot his Omega for the first time this year. He loaded it up with 100gr of 777 and a 300gr PB. When he pulled the trigger there was a rather load blast followed by SIGNIFICANT RECOIL. No holes were in the target. He couldn't figure out what had happened until he noticed that the ram rod went much deeper in the barrel when he reloaded.

The knucklehead realized that he never emptied the charge & bullet from the barrel when he hunted LAST YEAR. He just loaded a second charge and bullet right on top of the previous load.

Guess what - the powder went off just fine.

Fortunately there was no damage to the gun. Now that says something for the strength of T/C's Omega rifles!!

Loaded October 1, fired November 11, 9pt. @ 85 yds., right where I was aiming, no problem. Carried probably a half dozen times between those dates, in good weather at all times. Kept rifle in gun safe when not hunting. Said a little prayer before pulling the trigger.

Usually, no problems.  However a couple times this has resulted in a hangfire and once a no-fire that only fired on the second primer.

I hate doubt when I am taking a shot.  Leaving the gun outside reduces the likelihood of condensation in the charge but does not eliminate it. I fire off the load at the end of each day and reload the next morning, it isn't worth risking it to me.
