just picked up a cabala's haw-kin flintlock today. Barely used at a great price. top flt of the barrel says cabelas sidney, NE ad the one side says 54 cal. Anbody know the rate of twist on these guns.

I don't have one but have looked at enough of them to be pretty sure the rate of twist on their Hawken is 1-48 with a 29" barrel. Supposed to be a good rifle. It'll shoot round balls or conicals. Check out their web site for more info. Don't think they've changed much over the years.

Cabela's flint is the same as a LYman it is made by Int arms they are a good quality shoot well and a 1x48 twist. They will shoot round ball or conical very well. You need blackpowder to make a Flinter work

The .54 Cabelas Traditional Hawken Rifle has a 1:48 twist. They are made by Investarms in Italy, and are an excellent rifle for the price. My wife has a left hand caplock for sale now. I killed my first flintlock deer wih a .50.
