T/C Encore New Locking Pin

I have a 50 cal. I have had problems with my grouping. The best I can get is 8" at 100 yards. I use 260 grain 44 cal Dead Center bullet with 100 grains of 777 pellets and a 777 primer. Does this pin make a difference and is it really worth the $40.00? What can I do to get a better group? Well this pin help?

 Maybe,Maybe not if your pin just falls out then it might if it does not then I do not think so but, before you buy anything look and make sure forearm ears are not touching frame. If it is sand the ears until it makes no contact.  Make sure all bolts are tight. I shoot lose powder never had much luck with pellets some shoot great then you will get some fliers.
Mine shoots 90g T7 with 250g TC black sabot 1inch @ 100y spit patch between shots.

And if that doesn't work contact t/c, have you shot other barrels on that frame accurately?

Probably not.
8" @100yds, is that with a scope? off a bench? Your gun will do much better than that. Unless of course your rings/bases are loose or your scope is busted. I shoot the hardcasts into a ragged hole @50 with 60g's of 777 ffg. Start from scratch and re-check everything, and like it was said if that pin is a snug fit look for problems elsewhere. Loose fore-end screws, proper seating depth, not mashing the bullet into place, etc... etc...

it could be the barrel lug if anything else. check your scope and make sure the adjustments are working. if it's with a scope it could be the scope or the gun. if open sites check them and make sure their tight and adjust them. i don't even think if it was a bad bullet combo or powder combo it should not be worse than 3inches at 100 yards. i don't think its your pin unless it just falls out. mine is tight. it might be the rings were not cut right from the factory. i don't think it is the "ears'' of the forearm. i think its the scope, barrel rings/bases, or recover.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I went out today and shot the gun and started all over. I used 777 loose powder this time with the same bullet. At first I had no luck. So my friend and I Checked the Duo_ring scope mount and the scope rings. They were tight. Shot again. Still no luck. So I checked my forearm and the small screws the attach to the barrel. One was loose and the other one came out We could move the forearm about 1". My friend said that there was know way that this could have been the problem. But I think it was because now I am shooting a 1.5 at 100 yards from a bench rest. Thanks again you were all a great help.

That is a very sensitive area on the encore. I would try other bullet and powder combos. I would try to tighten my groups more but for hunting that is fine. Mine is for hunting but since its something I like doing I try to get the tightest groups possible. My 45cal encore muzzle loader shoots 3/4in at 125 yards using 195grain powerbelt and 100grains of 777. I spent days shooting different bullets and magnum charges to get to that

30-06man  which primer do you use and do you swab in between each shot or every other ect ?

I just use some old Winchester primers i bought years ago. I bought them in bulk. Ill swab every 2 shots and if it gets too bad ill take some warm water and run it down the barrel and run dry patches through it  but i never remove the barrel until i am done at the range. I don't run oil through it if i am still at the range and still shooting. I would just dry it and keep shooting.
