I actually got the 338win in a private deal. what i got from ontario was the powder. the company is called "Ammo mart" they are basically a clearing house for "factory second" powders, from such manufacturers as Dupont etc. my rifle is a Ruger M77. I yes I'm going to use the 338 for moose, elk (250gr Part.) black bears, muley's , whitetail and wolves (the 180gr Ballistic tip). Up here in alberta i can hunt all except the wolves within half an hour of my house and the wolves are only three hours west. but the moose, muley buck, and elk are all on draw basis. I should get my moose(every 5-6 yrs), mule buck( every 3-4 yrs) this year, as well as my "camp wainwright" deer. Camp Wainwright is a Canadian Armed Forces base an hour north of here. there you can harvest two deer, mule or whitetail, buck or doe, If you draw your tags! I've applied for my moose tag there as last year I saw a 63-65 inch moose and as far as i know he wasn't taken last season. the season for rifle deer and moose on the base runs from dec 1 to the 16th and as I guide big game hunteres all of november I cann't hunt on my for myself. Here in alberta guides can't hunt the same day the guide a client. We can't even carry a gun. so december is my time to hunt antlered game, if i get the tags and may/june is my time to hunt black bears.
one question for any body out there how does a guy get a brass that wasn't lubed and had the rim torn off out of a RCBS die, my cousin was giving me a hand reloading and he rammed the case into the die dry then when it wouldn't come out here slammed the lever up and torn off the rim. then to make matters worse he tried to use the decapping rod to push out the case, I think he's damaged the expander ball. so it anyones got an idea or ran into this problemdrop me a line.thanks
