banner or prostaff

 I just bought a 20 ga. ush.The gun shop i bought it from put a banner 3x9 on it.It needs high rings to clear the hammer.Is this a bad set up?I think i should have asked for the prostaff  in a 2x7 and low rings.If any one has used either of these scopes please post your thoughts.

You'll find the Nikon Prostaff 2-7x32 is much easier to mount on the USH, here's a thread on the same issue, only on an H&R 45-70, no difference in the hammer issue tho, the frames have the same dimensions.
