Lyman's new in-line?

I'm looking for input about Lyman's new "Mustang" in-line muzzle loader.  Has anyone had the opportunity fire one, and if yes how does it perform?

I've had one for about a year.  I really like the looks and feel of the gun, and love the hammerless design and tang safety.  On the negative side, mine had a terrible trigger - a long gritty crunch - that took a little while to get straight.  It's still not great but a lot better than it was.  I can get good hunting accuracy with it (three inch 100 yard groups) with a variety of bullets and powder charges, but it's no tack driver with anthing.  I never see those "one hole groups" people talk about.  Still, I like the gun a lot.  My best hunting load is 100 grains T-7 FFG under a 300 grain Speer Gold Dot in a Harvester short sabot.  This load will pretty consistently give me 100 yard groups around one and a half inchs and has a muzzle velocity right at 1750 fps.  The notes on the target below show 80 grains weight of powder, which is equal to about 103 grains volume.

Tell me something... Whats the Stocks like on them. I hear they aren't real wood, do they hold up well? And if it is scoped where do you get the mounts and which ones do you use or did you get a package from cableas or someone?

The stock is wood - probably a straight grain beech - with an attractive finish that looks like premium grade walnut with lots of figure.  I assume it's applied like the camo finishes are applied.  So far it's been very durable.  Mine shows no wear or scratches and it's gotten lots of range and hunting handling.

The gun comes with a set of two piece scope bases.  All you need are Weaver style rings.

I bought mine from Midsouth Shooters Supply for $295 plus about $11 S&H.  Their price has come down a little over the last year and I believe they are now $285.

I might get one. Depends on what I get next year. I want one of the new handi rifles in 300win and 7mag. I might be able to fit it in.
