Ultra 25-06 got to bark this afternoon!
« on: November 24, 2007, 11:26:19 AM »
decided after not seeing anything but small does and fawns at the lease for the last week it was time for some blood letting. Went out behind the house to the trusty ol ladder stand. Got sat down and heard some steps coming from up on the ridge. Saw a four point through the thick stuff, but he had a friend with him. It was this seven which I thought was at first a six. I let the 4 point walk down the ridge and let the seven follow. He stopped at 60 yards with his neck open for a clean shot. DOWN LIKE A SACK OF TATERS. The ol NEF 25-06 laid him to rest. I have killed 5 deer in a 20 yard radius from this spot in the last two years. Got to love it. Got him hangin in the garage as we speak. All I know is it took a lot of gruntin to get him on the 4 wheeler.

Big body on that fella.  Good shooting.  Five deer in the same spot!  That's awesome.

Seen a 10point down in kershaw and I let him walk. Theirs a bigger 13 pt that I seen on the trail cam. I hope to get him. If I don't Ill take the 10pt.
The sportsman lives his life vicariously. For he secretly yearns to have lived before, in a simpler time. A time when his love for the land, water, fish and wildlife would be more than just part of his life. It would be his state of mind
