ADL 700 MDL
« on: December 04, 2007, 05:02:54 AM »
My local ---mart has a Remington 700 labeled this way.
It is a 270 and has a laminated stock with regular weight barrel and open sites.
Is this a carryover or a special run?

Not sure but I do know that Wally had Remington make a couple of special runs for them. From what I was told by the sporting clerks they weren't cheapos or anything like that.  If it's a ADL, it has to be a carry over and you might get it at a good price.
Maybe a call to Remington will shed some light.  What does the clerk say?

The clerk was clueless as usaual.
I asked about the ADL being a carryover as I thought they were replaced by the SPS.
He said no its brand new.

Just seemed odd\interesting to me that it had a laminated stock.

It's NEW old stock. Call it a carry over or whatever else you wish.

Most ADLs of old had walnut stocks then they switched to plastic and toward the end a run was made with laminated stocks. Not sure if for some individual distributor or not. What real difference would it make? It's a Remington Model 700 ADL with a laminated stock whether it was a special run for a distributor a cataloged or non cataloged item makes no difference in how it was made or how it will shoot.

If it's still there after Christmas I may just go buy it.
Kind of the thing I have been looking for.
Most laminate stocked rifles are ether heavy varmint or super\ultra light weight.

I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something odd like a dressed up 710.
I'm sure it is old stock I just didn't remember seeing one.
