weighting the forearm
« on: November 27, 2007, 04:03:26 PM »
I was looking at my 12ga. partner last night and noticed that there is plenty of wood in the forearm.
I was thinking that I could router out a good size slot in there, and weight it with lead or BB's to
balance out the added weight I plan on putting in the stock to help reduce recoil. Don't plan on
making it too heavy though, I like the ease of carrying a lighter shotgun in the field. Has anyone tried
this??
Thanks
Tom

There is a section in the FAQ's that warns against adding weight to the forearm.
Make sure to read it.

Spanky - I read the FAQ on the weighting of the forearm - oh well, so much for that idea  ;D
Guess I'll just get a really good recoil pad and stick with that.
Thanks
