Saw a Marlin 336 CS recently. Is it different than the 336C? The trigger was not gold but the wood looked like walnut. It was bought from K-Martin the mid 90s

I have a 336CS and it shoots very well with the handloads I use. If I'm not mistaken, the S stands for safety as that model has a hammer block safety on it. Mine also doesn't have the gold trigger. I used it to take a button buck at 150 yards last time I hunted with it.

It's better to shoot for the sky and come a bit short than to shoot for the ground and hit every time. After all, the ground is just a place to start, the sky's the limit.
