22" or 24" bull

Sending in the frame for a new barrel, it will be used for varmit hunting, in missouri, does anyone know the weight difference between these two barrel lenghts in .223, is the extra 2 inches of barrel worth the weight and lenght ive heard that the 24" has a marked amount on incresed velocity but not much edge as far as accuracy, i know these topic have been covered, but looking for new and more info, thanks.

I don't think the velocity difference is that much different for a 223.
One thing to consider is will you need the longer Ultra scope rail on the 24"
As far as accuracy my 22" hb will shoot -1" at 200yds.

There is very little weight difference between the 2 bbl's  and you will get superb accuracy from either it comes down to personnel preference more than anything. Kurt

thanks for the info, i think im going to go with the 22", it should handle alot better than the 26" 25-06
