I haven't set any traps for a couple of years but I put in a dozen set last week.  I don't have time to work and keep up with more than that right now.  So far I've caught 5 coyotes, one fox and one skunk .  Not too bad for the first week.

Thanks,
Jack

well Tom, you could put up the reds and sell them and you could sell Grey tails. You would make a cool 5 bucks a day. You would make SO much money, you could buy 1 1/2 gallons of gas or a big pack of gum.:D

Decided not to keep any possum this year :-) so no body count there. I do miss not catching any skunks, a first by the way.
I have only trapped a limited number of days this fall for various reasons. Usually I run at least 10 days hard on just coon, at least 5 days on rats, then go from there as I please. As of today I have only put in 9 days total in the field trapping.
My count so far.
15 coon
42 rats
2 mink

I'm not whining but I normally get more than 15 coon the first day out on my line.
Numbers however are most definitely related to time and effort,,,
That Said!
I'm having a Great Fall and really enjoying myself, to me that is all that matters.
I hope everyone is having as enjoyable a fall as I.

I stretched the pelt on a flying squirrel that fell into an empty barrel with a couple inches of water in it. Stretched it square on coat hanger wire. Seems like the pelts would make good fur coats for Barbie dolls, if you know someone into making that sort of thing.

I hope you are wrong Tom, about snow part that is. I don't want that crap unless it under 3in or so. Now i can't wait for ice, most of the small ponds around my house have ice them. But i hate seeing kids go thro though, when we start to get ice, it happens every year.

Really slow for me. Lots of interruptions, distractions, work, funerals, meetings, etc. I have only trapped 14 days out of the 39 available to date. No sets out since November 8th.   I have 96 coons, 17 grinners saved, 8 rats, 1 red.  My coon line was slower with fewer coons at several locations. I went into the water line in 12 spots for 5 days and only took 6 coons. It had been warm, but with all the other stuff on my plate, just pulled them all. I am trying to line up some opportunities for December.
