Making Paper Patches - Three Must Tools!
« on: September 20, 2007, 03:05:36 PM »
We talk about PP bullets and recipes, but those just starting out might be interested in a couple of Must Have Tools
Paper Cutter to cut the strips of the patches ... I bought a Chinese knock off one for 6 bucks in Big Lot's
...Fiskars Self Healing Mat and Rotory Cutter ... http://www.amazon.com/Fiskars-86117097-12-Inch-18-Inch-Self-Healing/dp/B000B7M8Y8  This rotary cutter is also great for cutting cleaning patches too

I have a pattern on the back of one of my reloading blocks.  After cutting the strips lengthwise, I then place the strips on my template, mark the angle cuts for my rhombus and cut maybe three patches at a time.  I can see how the rotary cuttter would simplify some of my operation

I mark out a full sheet of paper then put it on the copier and make about ten copies  then I take ten sheets of paper and staple them together one staple per strip and start cutting the strips then the patches with a cutter like John posted.
I cut 10-12 at a time and it takes less then a 1/2 hour to cut 3-400 patches.
