This may been asked before but does anyone shot military 5.56 ammo out of their 223 H&R. Thanks for any replies.

The 5.56 ammo pressures are to high for the Handi. The owners manual even tells you to never fire such ammo through it. Dale

H&R includes a warning against it with every .223 rifle, the owner's manual also warns against using ammo that isn't made to SAAMI standards.

Well, H&R warns against hand loads, too.

So, is the mil-surp warning a Lawyer spec or an engineer's spec?

Looks like honest "Engineering spec".

A friend was wanting a single shot that would handle 5.56mm mil-surp.

Not a good thing that the 5.56mm can be chambered in the .223.
