« on: December 02, 2007, 11:10:04 AM »
ok, i got all my ducks in a row, and am ready to ship my reciever in to NEF for the bc barrel.
the instrutions say, to ship via regular US mail or UPS...
what is the best method for shipment, US mail, UPS or go to the local gun shop ?
who can i trust, cost, time, actually getting there ?

Your best bet is USPS insured mail with del. conformation , will be cheaper than UPS . my last one went that way . If your sending just the frame might as well order a set of stocks to go with it .  ;D

I'll second Stimpy's recommendation, I use USPS' Click-n-Ship, you can print the label with postage and get free delivery confirmation, I use their free priority mail video boxes to ship frames in, cost with insurance is less than $10 from zone 8 here in Washington state, no standing in line at the PO, just drop it in a collection box, lobby parcel drop, or hand it to a clerk. ;)

Glenn

If your just having a barrel fitted then they want the stock and forarm so that it can be test fired , thats why i said you can get a stock set while its there if your just sending the frame .

The shipping is not that much more to send the stock set along with the frame , BUT if you send them along use a not so good set , they do tend to scuff stocks from time to time in the fitting process .  :'(

In most cases i just send a frame and order a stock set while i'm at it . ( a little trick i learned from Tim )  ;D

Glenn, besides being inexpensive to ship that way, it's fast,  they've ALWAYS had mine in two days, if you ship tomorrow, they'll have it Wednesday more than likely.  ;)

Just remember tho, H&R shuts down for a couple weeks during Christmas and New years.
