Old Contender forends

Will the old contender forend for the 16 inch barrels fit the new g2 carbine barrels?  I am thinking about getting the parts before they no longer exist.  The barrel I am looking at is the 23" 6.8 SPC, which states it will not work with the old composite forend.

I bought the fore end to match mine when I bought my new 6.8 bbl. The profile is different, not sure about the screw spacing, but the "full bull" bbls are too fat for the old fore ends ( have read this, but all my old bbls are handgun, so can't verify personally). I suppose you could hog one out, but then it wouldn't fit your old bbl.
