Ishapore Enfield finished, but not REfinished

I don't have the funds for a Parkerizing tank immediately.  So I decided to reassemble the Enfield.  Thanks to all who have answered my questions.  Hope to go over to the shooting range next week (hour drive to any range around here).



I was really happy with the wood, the upper handguards are a reddish blond wood, Mahogany?  So they don't quite match.




EVOC ONE, how are the sporter handguards secured on?  I see that your rifles do not have barrel bands.  Curious about ordering a set from Springfield Sporters to make a second set.
This wood is too pretty to cut up.

I agree with your feelings about the condition of the wood on your rifle.  That is a very nice looking rifle.  Congratulations. 

The forend on my rifle's are secured with a single screw at the front of the trigger guard.  My rifles are #4 models.  I don't have any of the #1 MK 3 style, so I cannot compare if the design is similar.

The location of the screw places it near the center of the shortened forend.  The screw does secure it quite well.  However, depending on the fit, there can be a bit of a spring flex at the front.  Glass bedding is a solution.  I have had success using an anti-vibration tab positioned approximately 3/4" from the front of the forend.
