Walnut or Synthetic replacement stock?
« on: December 03, 2007, 03:34:18 PM »
Where DOES one get a nice walnut or syn. replacement stock for a NEF?
Vote them all out, EVERY election!

Does anyone remember the scene from "Quigley Down Under" showing the aborigines lined up on the skyline as far as you could see?   That needs to be US!

All of the H&R snthetics stocks are made by Choate Machine, you can order them direct from them, H&R and Midway. You can also get the checkered walnut TDC stock direct from H&R, see the 2007 Retail Parts list page in the FAQs.

I put a Choate on one of my .44 handi's and it feels and handles much better than the original. Fast shipping and great customer service.
Looking at a Boyd's thumbhole for one of the others.

I have seen a lot of posts about Boyds so I called them and the lady advised me they had nothing for the H&R, very confusing. I have used a lot of Gunstocks  Inc. stocks and they are great and give great service. All of my synthetic stocks are Choate their quality is exceptional. I have one now that has a Choate stock and factory survivor for-end on 17 HMR. ATI makes a very light adjustable stock system for the handi also but I think you have to like that style(kind of M16ish)and I don't think I would put it on a heavy recoil rifle.

That's because they don't sell them direct, they can only be purchased on complete rifles now that BV Pawn no longer has any H&Rs, but he still sells others. Read Mac's reply from Boyd's in the previous discussion.
