guns for pdogs and ground hogs

what kind of scope, pellets, gun, and range can you or have you hunted ground hogs and pdogs with.

I have never considered hunting groundhogs with an air rifle.
Part of the fun of hunting 'hogs is the splat factor which I believe an air rifle would not provide. I have found them to be a tough critter as it is not unusual for them to make it back to their hole after being hit with a 22lr.

they both can be hunted with airguns. groundhogs you need a 900 fps min in .177 and 600FPS in .22 and  40 yards max for both.
