local store has it on sale.  is it any good for 44 magnum loads?

It'd good for really slow lead bullet loads. I've even used it in my 454 with good results.

It's intended for low powered Cowboy Action loads with softer cast bullets. If your goal is to find a very mild load for plinking, or small game, then it's perfect.
