Has anyone used kite decoys?
« on: December 03, 2007, 01:54:01 AM »
What is your opinion on kite decoys for geese? Have you used them, and do you think they were a major contributor to your success ? Or do you think they scare away more birds than they attract?  ???
Just looking for a few ideas here guys.
 Thanks for your input,

Never tried them.

Something similar - I did read a goose hunting book once where the author talked about taking flat black balloons filled with helium and putting at different heights in the decoys.  Sounds like a big pain and waste of time to me.  But I guess it probably works.

I guess I never heard of the balloon trick, but we,'ve used kite decoys before in the fields where they seemed to work OK. Sometimes though when the geese got near, they would flare if the kite dived or made noise.   :-\
