Thanks, I appreciate it. It was fortunate everything came out all right, considering how many tactical mistakes were made. The short detective racking those rounds really got to me, though. Wanted to "scare" the guy, but was actually emptying his weapon! (And no, he didn't pick them up and reload as he went; just grabbed them as he was leaving....by my count, his shotgun was empty by the time I found the guy.)
Actually, I can duplicate the sound in the Smith right now (I seldom get rid of a gun, and this one has enough history to keep forever!). In retrospect, I'm sure it was audible only to me, but I know I'll never forget it! I really have to deliberately shake it now, so I must have had quite the grip then.
Holy crap. Stand by. I wanted to verify again for my own sanity's sake that what I was saying was accurate. I did duplicate the sound, but I found that I could make the sound with or without rounds in the chambers, so apparently, there's something else in there rattling! It's slightly louder with ammo, but that's obviously only a small contributing factor.
Huh! Learn something every day! Now I'm gonna go around and shake all my revolvers.....
