I have a 6.5x47 but I don't shoot silhouette with it I shoot long range groundhog matches with it. I load the 123 gr. SMK for it at about 2950fps a very accurate load best groups so far are 1 1/8 inches at 400 yds and 2 1/2 at 600 yds. I load my .260 rem. with the 142gr SMK at 2550fps for silhouette and it takes the rams down very well, and I think you could get 2550fps or better with the 142 SMK in the 6.5x47. The 6.5x47 should make a great silhouette round.
