durability of the brass coating
« on: December 22, 2010, 01:58:10 AM »
all i can find in the henry description(catalog and website) is it is "brasslite". saw in the faq here that it's brass plated alloy. question is how durable is this finish? interested in the golden boy but wouldn't want it if i gotta keep it covered up with that little rag that comes wrapped around the action to keep from rubbing off the finish. thanks and merry Christmas friends and neighbors, bubba.
fetch the hammer maggie-they's a bee on the baby's head!

I have had mine for about two years. I don't shoot it much because I'm going to pass it to my granddaughter. It is still 100% after 500 rounds or so. I do keep the receiver covered in the safe. I do know a fellow at the range who uses his a lot. His still looks good (no discoloration, etc.).
