Montana Action Concern
« on: September 09, 2003, 01:38:11 PM »
I have no doubt that the Montana action is a good one.  My concern is that I have called them twice and they can't give me a source for anyone that makes a stock for their specific action.  That's the only thing holding me back.  Do any of you guys know of such a stock?  I'm talking about that will fit with no other work being required. :?

The Montana action shares a common footprint with the left handed winchester Model 70's.  Only minor material removal is required to use a 70 stock.  Hope that helps.

I don't shoot left handed anymore: remember Pacemaker.  Those slight modifications are what worry me.  I've been down that road before.

Sorry about that, I am left-handed and forgot the rest of the world I guess.  The MT action shares a common footprint with the post-64 Winchester Model 70's.  Stocks are readily available that can be modified in moments by anyone who had any knowledge about wood to metal fitting.
