Encore ejector/extractor snaggs belted cases
« on: December 17, 2007, 08:53:15 AM »
Hi, I have an Encore with a 350 Rem Mag barrel. 1 out of 5 cases get caught on the ejector and won't feed with a reasonable amount of force. I tried factory ammo too and I still have this problem. Sometimes I can rotate the case and find a spot on the belted portion where it'll feed in, but this proves to be a nuisance.

Please help, is there an aftermarket extractor?

Try bending the extended part of the ejector downward...slightly...I had a similar problem with my 375H&H and to a lesser degree my 6.5x284. I also seem to remember taking the ejector out and slightly filing down the underside...that portion that remains in the lug...to allow it to move downward more as the cartridge is pushed in. And, I also seem to remember filing down (gently) any burrs along the edges of the round lip to allow it to slide more easily over the belt...going in and pulling out.

had same with 300 win.....remove the ejecter and polish  both sides of the edge that rides on the brass and catches on the belt. I also rounded and polished  the sharp edges.

If you want call T/C's CS and they should repair it free. If not just do what they said.
