Anyone have a remington mountain LSS rifle ?What are the pro and cons on this rifle? Looking at one in 7mm-08.
I enjoy collecting guns, swaping and staying up on all the newest models. I deer, quail, squirrel and rabbit hunt.

Don't know any cons.

I love them. I've bought almost every chambering and version of the Remington Moutain rifles other than the ones with detachable box magazine. That's a feature I hate and will not have on my guns. My LSS 7-08 proved to be about the most accurate of all of the LSS Mtn. Rifles I've bought. It shot sub MOA right out of the box with only an adjustment of the trigger to 3 pounds using Hornady Light Mag ammo which is really the only load I use in the 7-08 these days. It's faster and more accurate than any hand load I've ever put together and the bullet (139 grain BTSP) does everything I've asked of the 7-08 to date.

A buddy of mine has the detachable box magazine mountain rifle in 30.06 which wears a Burris FFII 3 X 10 X 50.....  We went to the range yesterday, and I've got to say I'm quite impressed...........It shoots cheap blue box federal 150 graiin very well, inch and a half or so five shot groups with several holes touching.......He bought some bullets and powder........it'll be interesting to see how well it shoots with hand loads.......

I had the 700 Mtn LSS in 30-06.  It wasn't the most accurate rifle in 30-06 I've had, but it shot well enough that I'd take a 350 yard poke with no hesitation at all.  I loved how it handled and carried.  I had a Nikon Monarch 2-7x32 on it and the balance was perfect for me.  Like a goober, I ended up trading it for something else, and now I wish I had it back.....  story of my life when it comes to gun trading.   :-\    I'd say that it was probably the best looking rifle I've had, as long you like laminate and stainless.

I left the magazine to my rifle laying on the dining room table once so I could drive 200 miles to go hunting with a one shooter.  >:(

I did the same thing with TWO magazines for my 7400.  A semi-auto single shot isn't my idea of a prime hunting gun.  Not very easy to reload either.   :P

I have two, .260 and 7mm-08 700 MTN LSS
excellent rifles, better to have a little more barrel than the model 7
I shoot 120 gr Nosler BT's and 140 rem CL's.
those guns shoot better than I do

I wanted a ruger compact but they are too small, if you see one in person you won't believe it.
