Brass Bucket

I have filled up the area on my gun cart where I normally put the empty brass and shotgun shells.  Thought about a brass bag but it always seems to be closed.
Got to thinking and went Internet looking for a wooden bucket similar to the ones the 49ers would have used.  Best one I found is located at the URL below.  Went with the small unfinished one.  Cost was $14 and don't know about shipping--that is something they'll add--supposed to be the exact amount rather than a standard, basic fee.

Sounds like a good period correct bucket. I am proud of you. The period correct police would have a field day with me and my brass pick up methods.
I use one of those rubber tipped shelf grabber things from Staples, which a bunch of folks do, but to really make things worse I use a fish scooping net with a long handle that I got from Petsmart. I never need to bend and I get brass and shotgun hulls in there fast and easy and have the shooters stuff tothe unloading table faster than a jackrabbit on a date.
Your idea sounds great. Since I am a BP shooter I need water to dump my brass though.

Hey Howdy Doody!

What dew ya use to put that BP brass in at the range? I use an old fashioned Mason jar, partially filled with water 'n a lil bit of dish soap, keep it in the box in my cart. While it may not be really correct for an EARLY period outfit, 's correct fer late 1800s! 8)

Cuts, I am embarressed to say, but I will anyway  :)  I use one of those kitty litter containers. The clumping kind. It has a wide mouth and I decorated it with a marker pen with all the branding iron brands I could think of.
I am thinking of building a new cart, if I can find someone to buy my new 3 wheeled cart. I will incorporate a catch all box like Papa Bear has. With the lid open he has it set up to reload remington cylinders and has all his supplies right there at hand. It is big enough that he can use a big peanut butter jar with his water/soap in it. It also has a very wide mouth. His is the most convienient cart for a BP shooter I have seen to date. Also, he has a full wood shop in his garage and he would let me use his tools to make a good one up, but first I need to sell my new one. It just isn't right for me. There isn't enough space to store all I need for BP.
BTW, I use a dash simple green and water and my brass looks pretty good, even though I use a lot of CleanShot.
