Ordering Questions
« on: December 31, 2007, 05:17:06 PM »
I checked FAQ but might have missed my answers. Im ordering from WalMart and the gun I would like is available and I know this thanks to the links provided in FAQ's. Im going to call H&R Wednesday and ask some questions so my question here is...Is there questions that I should ask prior to getting the gun like can they lighten the trigger ? Even if it cost some extra I would rather them check it while it is there before sending it. Any help or suggestions prior to talking to H&R and/or WalMart would be appreciated.

H&R doesn't sell firearms to Walmart, they only sell to distributors, so you can't get a trigger job done on a new rifle like that. You can send it in for a trigger job tho, best to do it when you order accessory barrels, or just do your own, they aren't that hard to do. ;)

Thanks Foggy. I was looking at maybe getting the H&R Ultra Varmint .223 24HB Laminated stock. I wasnt really looking for free trigger work but rather to save some time and shipping cost by asking the right questions prior to shipping.
Thanks quickdtoo. I never thought about the process until you mentioned it. If I need to do any trigger work when that time comes then I look forward to working through it here.
I will probably understand a lot more after a few phone calls Wednesday. I just want to ask the right questions while Im on the phone.

I have the same gun you are talking about. Mine is over 2years old and it is with the 1-12" twist, yours will more than likely be a 1-9" twist. I did a trigger job myself on that frame. It turned out well and it wasn't as hard as you might think. Once I figured out I had to pull the trigger back when I slipped it back into the action. The pull from the factory is not usually too bad. I just bought a 44 mag and the trigger pull was not very bad. I have it in to get a couple of barrels put on and asked to get a trigger job while it is in. I suspect they will not do any thing to it, because it was pretty good anyway. I sent mine in Nov 9th and still have not got it back. It has been 7 weeks, but the Holidays fall in there. I know they had every thing in stock I ordered before I sent it in. I ordered 5 Cinnamon laminated fore ends (so each barrel I have will have it's own), Cinnamon Laminated stock, two scope rails, 444 Marlin and 22 Hornet SL barrels. I hope to have it back in a couple of weeks, but who knows ??? I have found customer service to be good to work with. Follow the golden rule and treat them as you would like to be treated.  ;D ;D
