Buffalo Classic 45.70

I am lead to believe the buffalo classic 45.70 has had a marlin barrel fitted ,and was wonder if any one knows whether it was 2006 w or 2007 x ,as I am thinking of purchasing a new one for hunting in Australia.

Welcome! Marlin doesn't fit any barrels, H&R does, but Marlin does make most of the barrels for H&R who then welds the underlug and stud on them and then fits them. I'm not positive that Marlin is making the BC barrel, seems to me it's a Green Mountain barrel, but I'll have to check. In any event, all BC barrels are good to go, I've never read of anyone complain about them, unlike the 44mag barrels.

Thanks very much for the reply in regards to 45.70 and thanks for the welcome .Im a bit shy on the computer but have been reading the forum pages of late ,I do enjoy hunting and have done all types in Australia ,rifle,shotgun,muzzel loader ,ie hawkin 50 cal ,bow hunter of the year 89, 90, in Lithgow NSW ,Im 57 years of age and living in Queensland ,Australia.Thanks again mates.

Glad to meet you, we have several members from Australia and NZ,  Bernie(dodd3) is in western AU and bang_off is also from AU, there are more, but I can't think of em right now!

It's good to hear from you mates in OZ on the board. According to the movies, big .45-caliber bullets fly mighty straight down under, at least from Matthew Quigley's long-barrel rifle. Quigley  even got an Aussie gunsmith to reload some Enfield .450 bullets in his long cases during his fight with the local bad-guy down there, if I recall the storyline correctly. Good luck with your BC. I love mine.

That is correct..   Just watched that movie twice this passed New Years extended weekend.

Mighty straight compared to pistol cartridges and 50 cal rifle rounds of the day..
