I just got a 308 Survivor and shifted a Simmons 3x9 that I had on a 17HMR. Have a Mueller 4.5x14 to back-fill the 17 that is enroute from EABCO.

Although a lot of the guys seem to say the Rem Core-Loc won't shoot well, I have put 30 Rounds out of it and shooting less than MOA @ 75-yds. Without going down to my shop, I'm certain they are 150 grain. Took about 10 rounds to get zeroed really well and seemed to start grouping really good after 20/rounds. Strangely as is also mentioned on this site, it seems to fire much better when Dirty?

Had a few Extraction hang-ups and followed the advise again fron the forum and Polished the chamber. Shot 8-rounds yesterday w/ (0) hang-ups. Having two NEF's now, I am especially pleased with the 17HMR and getting excellent results from the Survivor. Now thinking about getting the Ultra Varminter in 204.

Can't seem to Stop!

I HAVE A .357 IN A SURVIVOR CONFIGURATION IT SHOOTS REAL GOOD WHEN THE BARREL IS DIRTY ALSO .
I'M GLAD YOU MENTIONED THE CORE-LOCS , THE 165 GRAIN SHOOT TIGHT GROUPS OUT OF MY .280 HANDI . GUESS I'LL TRY THEM IN THE .308 .
I HAVE 3 OF THESE RIFLES NOW, AND ONE H&R 12 GUAGE SINGLE BARREL .............MAN I LOVE THESE GUNS, NOW I WANT A 30/30.

I HAVE HAD MY 308 SURVIVOR FOR A YEAR NOW, AND I LOVE IT! AS FOR AMMO I HAVE TRIED OVER 10 LOADS, AND THE BEST I CAN FIND IS THE FEDERAL VITAL SHOCK NOSLER BALLISTIC TIP, BUT ITS ALSO PRETTY EXPENSIVE. AS A CHEAP AMMO THAT SHOOTS ACCURATLY I LIKE THE FEDERAL POWER SHOK, AND THE REMINGTON CORELOKT. THEY BOTH SEEM TO SHOOT PRETTY GOOD AT 100 YARDS.  FOR MY GROUNDHOG, AND DEER HUNTING OUT PAST 200 YARDS I USE THE VITAL SHOKS. I CAN HIT GROUNDHOGS AT 400 WITH THEM.  I DO NOTICE MY GUN DOES SHOOT A LITTLE BETTER WHEN THE BARREL IS A LITTLE DIRTY? CANT UNDERSTAND THAT BUT IT WORKS.

needs a 45-70. Good luck. Marv.
