Bought a Henry "Goldenboy" .22lr Lever rifle last night!
« on: April 10, 2007, 09:26:38 AM »
Went to Cabela's in Dundee last night before work and got the Goldenboy Henry in .22lr for $392 out the door.

Sweet little rifle...almost went for the .22 Magnum, but stuck with the .22lr

You can order a brass forestock ring to replace the black one that comes with it (which I just did!)  8)

like was said in the other posts. Youll go along ways to find a finer 22 at any price. Personaly i wish theyd make a more traditional looking gun like a copy of one of the old winchesters as i really like that style and if they did it would be a sweetheat. theres a henry 22 (not a golden boy) sitting at my buddys gun shop for 200 bucks that is about as slick in the action as they come. I should go and buy the dammed thing for a plinker. Its alot of gun for 200 bucks.

Henry service is OUTSTANDING!
Rifle looked good in the box...had oil all over it...upon wiping it down I found two abrasions on the brasslite receiver cover...I wasn't too happy but just shrugged it off.
Well two weeks ago I got a catalog showing  a factory engraved receiver cover that you can have words put on it in the bare spot.
Well then I thought what the heck, I'll email Henry and see if they will sell me a regular receiver cover to replace the abraded one.
I explained what happened and asked if they'd sell me a replacement non embellished one.
Expecting to hear from them in a couple weeks none other than Owner/CEO Anthony Imperato himself  emailed me the very next day (A Saturday) saying he will send me a new one free of charge!
It arrived Friday and was absolutely perfect...their service has blown me away and they now have a lifelong customer!

Next I am getting the engraved receiver for my little .22 lr...then saving for the .22 mag and the Bigboy in .44 mag!

Congrats on your new Henry. I bought one for my wife (not the Goldenboy), to practice with. They are slick handling little guns and shoot very well. Certainly a lot of gun for the money.

I bought the 22 mag over a year ago and man what a slick rifle. It has taken a lot of critters off the farm we lease, fox and ground hogs. Groups well good enough for me anyway. looking at the 44 mag now but might wait to see if they introduce the 30-30 for next year. Good rifle and Great company !!!

Looks nice, Henry does always but nice wood on their rifles and all parts of the gun come from the USA so nothing on these guns is foreign including the steel and aluminum. ;D
