It may be rather hard to find a "good" factory load for coyotes for the .243 but I would suggest anything in a ballistic tip in the 87 to 100 grain range. If you were to reload your choices would grow considerably.

There are no loads for a .243 that will not blow a hole in a Coyote big enough to throw a cat through.  If you have to use a .243 just use what shoots good and give up any thought of saving the fir.  If you want the fir then use a proper .17 CF of some sort.  Larry

as far as factory .243 loads to not blow a huge hole through, look for the black hills loading with the 63 grain barnes varmint grenade. that is about the only one i can think of. anything else is going to blow through them like mad. they may be hard to find right now, they havent been out long.

Any 243 load that will blow up inside on a centered hit will take a huge chunk out on a hit on the edges on a coyote. I hunt alot of coyote and use 55 grain Ballistic tips. I Just want em down and take the fur as a bonus.

We have been using the 95 grain fusion ammo and have been very happy with the results. The coyotes go bang/flop dead and little to no pelt damage.

I'm giving the Federal 80 grain soft points a try.  I tried the 58 gr Hornady ballistic tips and shot a Red Fox once and blew it to smithereens.  So I figure try the lightest soft point I could find (factory) and see what happens.
