New 24/7 on the way 2 me!
« on: November 28, 2007, 02:52:06 AM »
I ordered me a 24/7 Pro in 45 Auto yesterday I can't wait to get it in my hands. I have one in a 40 cal so I hope the 45 is as good as the 40. I will keep you posted

My business partner and I both bought one in .45. Both guns jam consistantly with hollow points. I am gonna let the wife use it as a truck gun with hardballs in it. :-[ Hope you have better luck. Wishing now I went with the XD.

What I don't understand is why people think I'm making up the fact that both of our guns jammed. I did find a way to make them reliable, but was told that didn't make sense either. I'm not gonna argue about something I personally experienced, this is the internet. Believe me or not, makes no difference. Have 4 Taurus's and these were the first I've had problems with.

I just picked one up today and thought it was a good deal until I started reading up on them  :-\

Mine is the full sized stainless model and is in .45ACP.
From what I can gather, it appears to be a Magazine issue. Apparently, if you experience issues with reliable feeding, Taurus will exchange your old mags for new ones (I'm guessing they replaced the springs with better/stronger ones).

The "jamming issues" appear to be FTF because the rounds are "nose diving" just before they enter the feed ramp.

I plan on contacting Taurus if I end up having feeding problems to exchange my mags...

I know a lot of people get discouraged with companies like Taurus or Kel-Tec. I have a bunch of Kel-Tec pistols. Some needed a little TLC to get'em running right, but I am confident in them. Same is true for the other Taurus pistols I own.

I know many people are fans of Glock, but I've had feeding and extraction issues with a couple of them too...

As a 1911 fan, I can tell you that if you have junky mags or weak springs, a $900.00 Kimber will do the same thing...

Just my .02 worth...

I tried my 24/7 .45 ACP at the range on Sunday (after church).
I ran a couple hundred rounds through it without a hitch!
All the ammo was ball, but I couldn't see putting expensive ammo through it to break it in...

Groups shrunk as I got better adjusted to the sights, but I still don't like them.
I think I'll try to find some after market sights in 3 dot configuration, preferably Night sights...

I'll keep ya'll updated...

Well I have finally put a few thousand rounds through both of them now. Love them both I used to not like the .40 cal so much because of the grip. But I put a Hague slip on grip for a Glock on it and now I like it better than the .45. No complaints about both of them I have not had any feeding problems yet just loading the mags all the way full is a real task. I think my next one will be a compact in a 9
