I have sight pins at 20, 30 and 40 yards. What is the appropriate technique for sighting at an intermediate distance such as 25 yards or 36 yards? I have been told to hold at the center of the sighting pins. I've also heard that it is more acurate to focus on the closest pin and then sight high/low on the animals vitals.
I'm not sure if it is proper to apply the term "point blank" shooting to archery but on large game, you may still be in the kill zone if holding centered onto the closest pin. The reason I'm asking is for those opportunities at smaller game that may chance by, coyote, coon, etc. They have a smaller kill zone and thus, require more accuracy.
What technique do you folks use in these circumstances.
